Types of Mask with Explanation

ROOSTER MASK

Is only used in the morning prayer towards the East for the blessing of our Nation and all Nation, including human life and respect towards the Creator & Mother Nature.

GOAT MASK

The oldest traditional mask in our culture and represent the old man of the fiesta. 

PASCOLA MASK

The oldest traditional mask of our culture Yaqui Tribe. It represents the pascola dancer which is the hunter, who is looking for the deer. 

CLOWN MASK

The joker to entertained everyone to enjoy and look forward to the upcoming traditional event.

WOLF MASK

Represents the hunter. In our traditional belief the wolf battles with human-being over the deer for survival.

MAŃOR MASK

The main greeter that address the community in our native language. For our ceremony, culture activities (i.e. wakes, anniversary) and community events. The mask is identified with two-side burn.

MONKEY MASK

Represents the beginning of human life and our exist as man kind.
